INNOVATION VERSUS ORIGINALITY IN DOCTORAL RESEARCH. CONTROVERSIES, LIMITS AND RISKS

Valentina VASILE, BEc and MSc in Finance and Accounting, and PhD in Economics (Bucharest, Romania), is a Full Professor and Senior Researcher at the Institute of National Economy, Romanian Academy. She also serves as Director of the institute and teaches at Nicolae Titulescu University of Bucharest. Her research interests include labour economics, migration, human capital, digital economy, social policies, sustainable development, and circular economy, with over 300 papers published in top academic journals, and participation in more than 110 research projects, both nationally and internationally, funded by programs like Horizon 2020, the Black Sea Basin ENI CBC, CEDEFOP, ILO Geneva, ILO-CEET, Norwegian Financial Mechanisms 2009 – 2014 and from the Romanian research funds. She has collaborated with universities such as Hitotsubashi University in Tokyo, Agean University from Greece. Between 2004-202, she has served as correspondent of EurWORK European Observatory of Working Life, for Romania, Eurofound, in labor policy and working conditions. She is member of the International Research Institute for Economics and Management, fellow of the International Engineering and Technology, member of the Community on Smart Data and Digital Technology in Education, of the European Expert Network on Economics of Education of WES Group (World Economic Survey)
